I have been working in the counseling field since 2001, and received my MA in 2008. My personal experience with therapy as a young adult was life-transforming and life-affirming; since then I have sought to help others discover their own unique path forward.
I find it especially fulfilling to work with individuals who are at a crossroads in life. Whether you are a young adult trying to navigate newly found independence or struggling with other life transitions that bring about disorientation--episodes of grief and loss, anxiety, depression, loss of relationship, etc. It can be these times that bring you into counseling. My goal as a counselor is to help you navigate these challenging times while integrating and making meaning out of these experiences.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, running, and hiking.
Note on the pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought us as individuals and a society through a period of grief and loss. Our lives are disrupted, activities and routines that we cherish are absent. Jobs may be lost and finances may become precarious. Relationships with friends and family may be physically distant. Loved ones may become ill or pass away. Fear and anxiety might arise. Our typical support system might be absent. It is important that we honor the significance of the moment and seek the support that we need in this unprecedented time.
